Inktober Tangles 2022
For several years I have been participating in the Inktoker artist challenge. Inktober originated as an “all” art challenge and in 2015 Stephanie Jennifer adapted it for our beloved Zentangle practice.
Following along with prompts throughout the month helps me maintain my drawing skills and facilitates my daily practice. I like to follow the prompts supplied in the handout from 7F5R.com because I don’t need to think about what tangle to draw next. That decision has been made for all who participate.
Stephanie supplies a hashtag to use when posting my daily Inktober tangle (#inktobertangles2022). Subscribing to this hashtag allows me to quickly see other artists work on my Instagram feed. It’s a win, win!
Inktober Setup
Over the last two years I have been learning about and exploring mixed media techniques. For this Inktober I wanted to try and apply those techniques with my tangling. I made a small journal with just enough pages to cover 31 days, title page, and an end page.
You will see throughout the pages that I added papers from my previous mixed media play with a gel plate, special papers from other sources, and a bit of washi tape.

Inktober Tangles Conclusion
In conclusion, once again I enjoyed participating in this year’s Inktober challenge. I learned many “new to me” tangles and used my mixed media papers and washi tape to create pages. It was a wonderful experience full of creativity, gratitude, and joy of the process.
I highly recommend checking out the next set of Inktober tangles for 2023 when they are ready.
Have fun and keep tangling!
