Bijou Be Well – Mental Health Awareness 2024
The Zentangle community celebrates Mental Health Awareness month by participating in daily drawing for 21 days. It’s an opportunity to highlight how art and specifically drawing can help us to be more calm and focus our attention on a positive exercise in our life.
Drawing has been shown in multiple studies to lower blood pressure, relieve stress, and increase a sense of wellbeing. I know that when I draw Zentangle or Celtic Knots, I am happier, feel more engaged, and ready to tackle new projects.
I really enjoyed drawing along with the Zentangle crew including Rick Roberts, Maria Thomas, Molly, Martha, and Julie in their quite short videos on YouTube. We all worked on 3Z tiles from Zentanlge Inc from their Bijou Be Well Bundle. This wonderful little box of goodies included 3Z tiles in white, black, tan and the new velum tiles.
Bijou Day 1-3
We used a three-sided string on all of the 3Z tiles setting up a wonderful possibility for very cool mosaics. In the first three days we used tangles, Doodah, Indyrella, and Hurry.
Bijou Day 4-6
I didn’t always following the same color tile as the Zentangle video because I didn’t have the velum tiles. I did however try to pick a color that suited the tangle in my mind. This set of tangles includes Flux, Floorz, and Purke.
Bijou Day 7-9
In this set, I ended up using two black tiles for the tangles Braze, Fescu, and Rixty.
Bijou Day 10-12
I love these particular tangles, Betweed, Paradox, and Crescent Moon. I use them often as they fit almost anywhere on your tile.
Bijou Day 13-15
I usually like to shade throughout my piece. I found it a tiny challenge to just shade the perimeter on most of the tiles. This set uses Crazy Cadent, Festune, and Scena.
Bijou Day 16-18
These three tangles, Printemps, Quabob, and Marasu are such great tangles. They love to be shaded with added highlights!
Bijou Day 19-21
I am always a little sad when a project pack or special set of tangles comes to a close. This last set of tiles includes Yincut, Spoken, and Mooka.
Bijou Bundle Conclusion
The gang at Zentangle Inc always does a wonderful job curating yummy supplies, and this Bijou Be Well Mental Health Awareness bundle is no exception. It was a joy to tangle every day with the team using quality materials and enjoying the 8-step Zentangle process. I am looking forward to the next Project Pack where I will once again follow along with this wonderful community.
Thanks for joining me for this review!
