I Enjoy Tangle Challenges

I really enjoy participating in various challenges around the Zentangle community, and Inkober is one of my favorites. I look forward to the prompts from Seven Forests Five Rivers, Stephanie Jennifer. She curates a nice list of tangles with old favorites and plenty of new tangles to grow my repertoire.

Map Tangling - Say What?

Map Tangling - Say What?

A tangling map is just a pool of color that has been blown around to achieve “contents” with “peninsulas” and “islands”. Annie sent students a video in advance of the class, showing us how to create our “maps”. I used Ecoline liquid watercolours to create my maps. Naturally, the watercolour needs to dry completely before tangling begins.

Dancing with Nature's Muse

I recently attended an amazing art retreat at Big Bear City in Southern California. The organizers of the retreat, Sharla Hicks and Beckah Karula sure know how to grow a budding artis't’s skills! I learned about new tools and techniques, was challenged to “push the darks farther”, and hung out with amazing friends for ten days high in the Southern California deset. What an amazing experience!

Valentangle 2018 Review

I just experienced a wonderful Zentangle related Valentines season through the Valentangle 2018 challenge sponsored by Marguerite Samama, CZT 16. Her mission was "to take two weeks to discover how we can put hearts into our tangles and let the tangles flow back into our hearts. We do this by appreciating making a small work of art, nourishing creativity and connecting to each other."
